A weekend full of softball and dad!

In a salute to how great Kevin is as a dad and husband, Parker and I spent most of our weekend at the softball field, watching him play.  It was a great way to spend the weekend together as a family, despite the record-breaking heat and humidity, we really had a great time.  I thought for sure that Parker would have a rough time surviving the day, but he did really great, no major melt downs to report.  I think he likes being out, where the action is and entertained.
softball is serious business.
He actually seems to enjoy watching the game. I know that Kevin is dying to get him out on the ball field, but for now, we are focused on crawling!

Good Times with Grandpa Dennis

Parker is really a sweet baby, he loves just about everyone, but something about his Grandpa Dennis seems to be extra special. Grandpa Dennis was the first person to ever get Parker to laugh.  He visited the first week of June and as was expected, Parker was delighted to see him.

so much fun!
best view in the house.

They spent tons of time together, watched baseball and just tried to avoid the heat and humidity. We did spend a bit of time outside at a new restaurant just a few blocks from our house.
full belly, relaxing with Grandpa Dennis
Parker came to me for dinner and then wanted to go right back to spend time with Grandpa Dennis.  I am definitely chopped liver when he is around.

6.16.11 Make a note!

Today was a big day in the Worley house.  Parker slept from 8pm last night until 6am this morning.  From about 3am until 6am, I woke up every hour on the hour just to check on him.  I kept expecting him to get up, but at 6am, he was still sound asleep.  I'm not sure what caused this sudden change in sleep pattern, but I am super excited about it.

my good sleeper
Kevin wanted to know if I was super excited about Parker sleeping through the night, my response, "I will be excited if it happens again."  Let's hope he makes a habit out of this.  Maybe we will try to do exactly what we did last night - same dinner, long bath and off to bed, same times too!  Wish us luck!

Parker loves the pool.

He is a real fish!  We spent time at the pool both Saturday and Sunday.  He just loves the water.  Check out his new swimsuit...
Just Parker and I went to the pool on Saturday.  We had some quality mommy-Parker time.  It makes me so happy that he loves the water.  I can't wait until he can swim all on his own. After an afternoon at the pool, we headed over to watch Kevin play softball.  It was a full afternoon.

Kevin joined us on Sunday.  It was a fun-filled morning at the pool for sure.  Just like his mom, the pool really wears Parker out.  He was so exhausted that he fell asleep in his dad's arms on the walk (about 100 yards) from the pool to the car - a first for this wiggle worm!

Parker's college fund.

We have officially started Parker's college fund, thanks to a big bit of help from Grandpa Lewis.  After some research online and plugging numbers into an online calculator, it looks like a private education in 20 years is going to cost well over $500,000.  I can't imagine this number can be right - at least I hope it's not right.  Let's hope that Parker is super athletic and smart to help cover the cost of higher education!

Uncle Steve!

The last time Parker saw Uncle Steve, he was TINY!  Just a little over 4 weeks old.  He wasn't very active, slept a lot and just wasn't as fun as he is now - at least not to everyone but me!

basketball watching

Here is is with Uncle Steve at 6 months.  Its nuts how much Parker has grown.  Uncle Steve definitely thought Parker was much more fun and interesting this visit.   They definitely seemed to enjoy hanging out with each other.  Parker thought his Uncle Steve was super funny!  Here they are enjoying themselves on Memorial Day.
buddies!
I can't wait until Parker is older.  Uncle Steve promises to teach P how to ride a dirt bike.  I'm a little nervous about this, but boys will be boys.  As long as he has on a helmet and is covered in full body armor, I think the lessons will be okay.

Great Trip to KC

We had a nice time in Kansas City.  I got to see friends from high school at my reunion and eat lots of great BBQ.  I think Parker had a great time too.  He really loves his grandparents and uncle.  He thought his grandparents' dogs were just the best!  He would just laugh and laugh at them.  As can be expected, he was spoiled to death and stayed up much later than normal.

post bath.  super comfy.

He is such a fun little kid.  Always seems to be smiling and laughing.  I hope he stays this way for a very long time! We fall more in love with him every day!
